Up first we have lolita! More specifically, sweet lolita. Sweet Lolita is one of the most over-the-top styles Marina will wear during Distant Music, and is probably the style she'll wear most often (but I'll definately leave out gloves. except for maybe in the winter). It's the most child-like of the lolita styles, using tons of bows, ruffles and light colors to make up an outfit, while the most common colors used are pink, white, and powder blue, but pretty much any color can be used as long as it's not neon.
Up next we have Mori Gal! Mori Gal takes inspiration from "girls who live in a forest" - neutral colors, basic fabrics, unfussy clothing, and layers. It's probably one of the most 'natural' styles Marina will wear through out the series. It's also one of the styles she won't wear very often. I tend to write "Mori Gal" a few different ways (Mori Girl, Mori Gyaru, etc.) so please put up with me. ><;
We can't leave out Dolly-kei can we? Dolly-kei is inspired by old European dolls and fairytales, with a Celt and Russian slant. It consists of old floral patterns, antiques, furs. I tend to think of it as the strange, beautiful love child of lolita and mori gal. I can't help but wonder how I'm supposed to describe an outfit from this style, so Marina might not wear this too often... Which is kinda sad, considering I really love this style. >>;
Now we've got Decora! It's mostly about mixing/matching, over-accessorizing, and drowning and colorful layers. There's no real rules to the style, just to go ahead and imitate a rainbow! It's a fun style with lots of room to experiment, so I might put Marina in it quite abit (but not as often as lolita of course).
This post will be updated soon, I just need to take a break for a bit. :3
